Rain in the wet season and 33°C afternoons do not cancel family plans in Indonesia – they move them indoors. That is why the indoor playground (what Indonesian parents search for as playground anak2) has become one of the most predictable family entertainment businesses in the country: fixed rent, controlled climate, and a ticket price that survives the rainy season.

This guide is written for operators who are pricing the project right now. It covers what the equipment costs at each size, what the full modal buka indoor playground looks like once rent and fit-out are counted, how to zone the space by age, and how to tell a real manufacturer from a trading company quoting on someone else’s factory.

A turnkey indoor playground means one partner owns the whole path from the first sketch to opening day. A supplier who designs from your actual floor plan and ceiling height catches those before production, not on site.

Indonesian buyers almost always start with the same question – harga playground, or more precisely harga 1 set playground indoor. The honest answer is a range, because the price is driven by play density and structure height rather than floor area alone: two 400 m² rooms can differ by 40% if one has a three-level structure, a ball pit and a trampoline zone and the other is a single-level soft play area.

Those figures are equipment budgets, based on projects we quote, and they assume a standard commercial specification: galvanised steel frame, 18 mm marine plywood or PE board panels, PVC-covered padding, and a themed entrance. What moves the number inside a size band is the amount of structure per square metre, the number of levels, whether you add a trampoline or ninja course, and how much custom theming you want. A themed pirate ship that guests photograph costs more than a plain frame that plays the same.

If you are comparing quotes from three suppliers, compare them on the same specification sheet – structure height, panel thickness, steel gauge, PVC weight, and the number of play elements. A quote that is 30% cheaper usually has a thinner frame and fewer elements, not a better price.

The equipment is rarely the largest line in the project. Modal buka indoor playground – the capital needed to open – includes everything that has to be paid before the first ticket is sold. Where operators get caught is the deposit: a mall landlord may ask for three to six months of rent plus a service charge and a fit-out deposit, and that number can equal the equipment budget.

Plan the cash flow, not just the purchase order. Equipment is paid in stages (deposit, before shipment, balance on documents), the fit-out is paid to local contractors as it progresses, and the venue earns nothing until the soft opening. A project that looks comfortable on the equipment quote can still run out of cash in month two – which is why the operating model matters as much as the price list.

The layout has one job: keep a family inside for two hours without losing sight of a child. Zones should flow from the entrance, not branch off it, and the exit should pass the cafe rather than the door.

Most Indonesian family venues lose money in one of two ways: the play area is too advanced for toddlers, so parents of young children leave after twenty minutes, or it is too small for older kids, who go elsewhere at the weekend. Splitting the floor into three bands fixes both.

Height matters more than area here. A two-level structure needs roughly 4.5 m of clear height including the safety zone; a three-level slide tower needs 5.5 m or more. Check the ceiling and the sprinkler and duct positions before you approve a layout – the cheapest moment to find a conflict is on paper.

Indonesian parents prioritise safety, cleanliness and value when choosing where to take their children, and a commercial indoor playground answers all three. A venue designed for both does not need to discount to fill a weekday.

Cheap indoor playground equipment is a false economy. A serious manufacturer will specify the structural steel frame, marine-grade plywood or aluminium panels, and PVC or netting covers that survive commercial use – and will show you the material certificates rather than describe them.

Ask for three things before you order: a load-test or structural calculation for the climbing frame, material and fire certificates for the soft parts, and a maintenance schedule that names the parts you will replace first. In Indonesia the same product is sold by factories, by trading companies and by local installers who buy from a third party. The produsen (производитель) is the only one who can change a structure for your ceiling height without re-quoting the whole job. These eight questions separate the three quickly:

1. Can I see the production line, not only the showroom?
2. Who signs the structural calculation for the height you are proposing?
3. Which parts are made in-house and which are bought in?
4. What is the steel gauge and panel thickness in millimetres, in writing?
5. How many containers has this exact model shipped in the last year?
6. Who provides installation drawings, and are they in English or Indonesian?
7. What is the spare parts list, and how long are those parts available?
8. What happens if a container arrives with a damaged panel?

Import duty and VAT are assessed at clearance, and the rate depends on how the equipment is classified. Ask your forwarder to confirm the HS code and landed cost before you sign, because the difference between two classifications can be larger than the freight itself.

Most of our Indonesian projects ship through Tanjung Priok (Jakarta) and clear there, then move by truck to the site. For jual playground enquiries outside Java – Surabaya, Medan, Makassar, Denpasar – the container is usually transhipped domestically, which adds one to two weeks and a local handling cost that should be in the budget from the start.

Installation is planned around who is on site. In a mall, works are restricted to night hours and the loading bay has a booking slot; in a stand-alone building the crew can work daytime. Tell us which situation you are in before we quote installation, because the labour hours are different even when the equipment is identical.

A single-level set for a 200-250 м² play cafe typically starts around USD 25,000, while a full 430-500 м² family entertainment layout runs USD 50,000-65,000. The final figure depends on structure height, number of play elements and theming – ask for an itemised list rather than a lump sum.

For 300-400 м² the equipment budget usually falls between USD 35,000 и 50,000. Add fit-out, freight, installation and the mall deposit, which together often equal 40-60% of the equipment cost.

Production takes 15-30 дни, sea freight to Jakarta one to two weeks, and installation two to four weeks for a 400-500 м² site. A realistic plan from deposit to opening is three to four months, including fit-out.
