A written procedure that has never been practised is not an emergency plan – it is a document. The difference shows in the first two minutes of a real incident.
This is the emergency framework we recommend for family parks and indoor venues, built around drills that staff actually run rather than manuals nobody reads.

Every park needs a practised emergency evacuation plano, not a document that has never been tested.

The Scenarios Worth Planning For
Five situations cover most park emergencies: a ride stopping with guests on board, an evacuation of a zone or the whole site, fire or smoke, a medical incident involving a guest, and severe weather such as a storm or high wind. For each one, the plan should say who takes control, who speaks to guests, who calls emergency services and who handles the rest of the park while the incident is being managed.
Roles, Communication and Equipment
Every member of staff needs a named role in at least one scenario, and the roles should be printed where staff actually work, not filed in an office. Communication is usually the weakest link: agree one channel and one fallback, keep stop controls and first aid kits in known positions, and make sure the person on the gate knows how to stop guests entering an affected zone.
Drills That Prove the Plan
Run at least one drill per season, alternating scenarios so the team does not rehearse the same one and assume the rest will work. Time the response, note where people hesitated, and close the park down or use a quiet period so the drill is realistic. New staff should run a drill within their first weeks rather than shadowing someone for a month first.
Records, Incidents and Continuous Review
Keep a signed drill log, a first aid register and an incident report template, because those three documents answer almost every question an insurer or inspector will ask. Review every real incident within a week, including near misses, and change the procedure if the review shows a gap. Parks running several attractions, mula sa a new park project to an established site, follow the same loop: plano, drill, record, improve.
