A double decker carousel changes the way guests use a park square: it becomes the meeting point, the photograph and the place families decide where to go next.

This project in South Korea used the 48 seat platform, which is the size most parks choose when they want the two storey effect without a flagship budget.

Layout and Platform Works

Two storey carousels need the platform designed as part of the ride, with the stair position, boarding layout and queuing space fixed before civil works. On this project the platform sat on the main circulation route so guests passed it on the way in and stopped on the way out, which is exactly where an impulse ride performs best.

Installation Sequence

The installation ran in four stages: platform and centre column, rotating frame and drive, upper floor structure and stairs, then figures, trim and lighting. Because the sections were loaded in that sequence, the crew never had to open a crate twice. Local labour worked under factory supervision, which keeps cost down without risking the assembly tolerances.

Lighting, Music and Evening Trading

The lighting and music package is what turns the carousel into an evening attraction. On this project the show was programmed so the upper and lower levels read as one scene, and the ride ran later than the surrounding attractions. Operators who trade into the evening usually recover the carousel investment faster, because the photograph traffic continues after dark.

What the Park Does Each Week

The maintenance routine covers the centre bearing, drive and brake, the platform structure and stairs, plus the figure and seat fixings that guests touch constantly. Spare horses, lamps and drive components are held on site, and the two storey layout of our 38 seats double decker carousel follows the same routine, so a park expanding from one size to another keeps its procedures.

Customization

What you can tailor: Theme, figures, canopy, lighting and platform finish.

We build attractions rather than resell them, which is why technical questions come back as drawings instead of brochures – and why a 125,000 sqm production base can absorb customisation without moving your delivery date. Project work includes layout drawings, phased equipment lists and documentation you can hand straight to a local contractor.

Give us the site details and the deadline you are working to – we will map the phases, the equipment and the cost outline against it.
