A carousel in central Europe has to survive frost, salt and months of low use, so the specification changes before it changes anywhere else.

This project in the Czech Republic shows what changes when the same ride is specified for a cold climate rather than a tropical one.

Specifying for a Cold Climate

Cold climates demand different protection: low temperature lubricants in the drive, sealed and heated control cabinets, and finishes that resist freeze-thaw cycles. Drainage around the platform matters as much as the finish, because water that freezes under the base lifts concrete. Those specification changes are agreed at order stage, not discovered at commissioning.

Plattform, Frame and Figures

The installation followed the standard four stage sequence – Plattform und Mittelsäule, Drehrahmen und Antrieb, upper structure and stairs, dann Zahlen, Ausstattung und Beleuchtung. Figures and decorative parts were crated separately to protect painted surfaces, and the crew worked to the factory sequence so the upper floor was never loaded before the frame was aligned.

Winter Care and Annual Restart

A carousel in this climate has two operating seasons and one long inspection window. Before winter the drive is greased for low temperature, the canopy is checked for water traps and the platform is cleared of debris. At the start of the season the routine is a full electrical check, brake test and a slow rotation before guests board. Unser 48 seats large carousel platform follows the same maintenance logic for parks that want the capacity without the second deck.

What the Operator Learned

The lessons from this project apply anywhere: a carousel that runs in the evening needs lighting that can be serviced quickly, and a ride that closes for a season needs a storage plan for figures, lamps and trim. Both were written into the park’s own procedures during handover, along with a recommended spares list and the contact route for technical support.

Was Sie individuell anpassen können

Die Individualisierung deckt die Teile ab, die Gäste tatsächlich wahrnehmen: Farben, Figuren, Überdachung, lighting programme and platform finish.
