An adventure trail is designed like a route, not like a collection of equipment, and that single decision is what makes children move through it for an hour.
This project links climbing nets, rope bridges and slide exits into a continuous circuit so guests keep moving instead of queueing at one item.

Designing the Route
The trail was laid out as a loop with alternating high and low sections, one slide in the middle rather than at the exit, and two route options for different confidence levels. Stations sit close enough that supervising adults can watch several at once, and the loop means nobody has to walk back through the busiest part of the course.
Structures, Netting and Surfacing
Posts and frames are protected steel with themed cladding, and the netting is specified for wet conditions because a tropical park rarely has a dry week. Surfacing was installed station by station with the fall height recorded on a plan, so the maintenance team knows exactly which areas need a depth check and when.
Commissioning and Staff Training
Commissioning covered structural torque checks, net tension, slide joints and the surfacing depth survey, followed by staff training on supervision positions, maximum user counts and the procedure for a child who wants to leave the route early. Written rules were posted at the entrance in the park’s language.
Keeping the Trail Open
Weekly inspections cover netting, ropes, bolt torque, slide joints and surfacing depth, met een schriftelijk logboek dat ter plaatse wordt bijgehouden.
