In northern Europe a carousel needs a winter plan as much as a summer one, and that plan is written before the machine is ordered.

This project installed a two storey carousel with a specification prepared for cold, wet conditions and a documented shutdown and restart procedure.

Cold Climate Specification

Drive lubricants, control cabinets and finishes were specified for low temperatures, and drainage around the platform was designed so water cannot freeze under the base. Those details cost little at order stage and prevent the corrosion and cracking that come from freeze-thaw cycles.

Assembly and Commissioning

The carousel was assembled in the standard sequence with the platform, frame, drive, upper structure and figures installed in order, followed by commissioning and restraint checks. Because parts were loaded in assembly sequence, the crew never reopened a crate.

Evening Trade in a Short Season

Lighting and music were designed as a show, and the ride trades into the evening during the operating season when the park is at its busiest. The lighting also becomes the attraction on short winter days, when guests arrive in the dark.

Winter Shutdown and Spring Restart

Before winter the drive is greased for low temperature, the canopy checked for water traps and the platform cleared. At the start of the season the routine is a full electrical check, brake test and slow rotation before guests board – the same disciplined approach we recommend for any double decker carousel.

Customization and Site Fit

You decide the look, we keep the engineering standard: Colours, figures, canopy, lighting and winter specification.

Twenty years of manufacturing and export stand behind this product, produced in a 125,000 m² facility with in-house design, tooling and quality control. Project work includes layout drawings, phased equipment lists and documentation you can hand straight to a local contractor.

Give us the site details and the deadline you are working to – we will map the phases, the equipment and the cost outline against it.
